Who is Maria?

Maria J. Brooks is a proud mommy of two and a DONA Certified Labor Doula. She and her family moved to Philadelphia in October of 2006 after 10 years living in New York City. It was there she found her perfect "job". After the life-changing birth of her daughter, Maria found the role of a doula, advocate and teacher to be an appropriate fit for her gifts of compassion and joyfulness. She is also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and Fellow of the American College of Childbirth Educators. She continues to teach in Manhattan as well as the Philadelphia area, helping women to trust their body and find their voice and power to labor and birth in a safe and sacred way. She believes in the importance of a mother trusting her own inner wisdom to guide her choices in childbirth.

Maria serves women and their families in home, hospital, or birthing center birth.
